MOKUYOBI MUST GO!

In February 2021, White owned Mokuyobi announced the opening of their Little Tokyo flagship store. Community stakeholders, members of cultural organizations, longtime activists, and local residents generously communicated their concerns to Mokuyobi regarding cultural appropriation and gentrification. Owners, Julie Pinzur and Alex Seastrom, consistently responded with racist hostility, lies and ignorance. They continue to victimize themselves as they publicly mock, dismiss, gaslight and delete comments; blocking anyone who voices their concerns on public forums.

Over 3000 + people signed our petition to get Mokuyobi out of Little Tokyo!

On August 28th 2021, we organized an Boycott and Action.
We invited people who had thier comments deleted, blocked and gaslit to express thier feelings to Mokuyobi. So many people joined us as we uplifted the voices of the community who continued to been silenced.  IG live of the event

On Thursday April 29th, J-Town Action and Solidarity, representing ourselves and the 2000+ petition signers, have sent a letter to the Landlords. This letter demands the landlords to release Mokuyobi from their lease and allow them to immediately vacate the properties and end the harm they have brought to Little Tokyo.
